JUNE 2023

Congratulations to our Class of 2023 Graduates! 

Due to Government guidelines, Carousel was instructed not to hold Graduation Ceremonies during the Covid pandemic – this was completely out with our control, and we were devastated. 

This year, with all restrictions being lifted, we were given the go ahead to proceed with our annual Graduation ceremony, and we couldn’t have been happier to celebrate our apprentice’s success!

We have had lots of events on this month in line with Scottish Apprenticeship Week. Thank you to all schools, colleges and careers offices across Scotland for having us!

To finish off Scottish Apprenticeship Week 2023, we visited Carli’s Kindergarten to meet with some of our current and former Modern Apprentices with MSP Pam Gosal.

Thank you to everyone who attended our Open Day on Wednesday 8th March. It was great to meet so many young people interested in a career in Early Learning & Childcare. 

We kicked off Scottish Apprenticeship Week with a visit to Children’s Hour Nursery with MSP Marie McNair.

FEBRUARY 2023

We attended the Alloa Employment Fair, hosted by MSP Keith Brown this month, where we shared information on local Early Years apprentice opportunities. 

Gowanlea Private Nursery celebrated their apprentices this National Apprentice Week! Kai, Sasha, Elly & Ellie were all recognised for their passion and hard work; well done!

Wishing everyone a lovely festive period. Our office will close from Friday 23rd December 2022 to Wednesday 4th January 2023. 

This month our staff celebrated with a well-deserved night at the Hilton Glitter Ball!

We attended Scotland’s largest Career Event, hosted by SkillsScotland, and spoke to over 500 of Scotland’s young people about our Early Years Modern Apprenticeship!

CATHERINE’S WHEELS – 15 staff from our team took part in a sponsored cycle in memory of our much loved and very much missed colleague, Catherine. All money raised was donated to ‘Catherine’s Wheels’ charity.

Congratulations to Emma who is celebrating 20 YEARS at Carousel this month! 

Emma is a Senior Internal Verifier within our Assessor Department. We can’t thank Emma enough for her hard work over the years.

Congratulations to Sarah who recently completed her Internal Verifier qualification. Sarah celebrates this on her 13th year as an Assessor at Carousel!  Congratulations Sarah.

Congratulations to Robyn, who achieved her L&D9 Assessor Award this month. Robyn joined us in 2020 after working as Acting Nursery Manager / Depute Manager for over 4 years.

We wish to welcome our new assessors, Claire, Karen and Shannon to the team at Carousel.

We would also like to Congratulate our Marketing Officer, Lucia and her new husband Marcello on their wedding day. Lucia and Marcello tied the knot on Wednesday 18th August. We wish them both a wonderful journey as they build their new life together.

We would like to wish Karen, a very happy retirement as she, Stevie and Scooby move to Spain. Karen has been an integral part of the Carousel team for over 20 years, and she will be sorely missed!

The Apprentice Employer Grant has now ended. Congratulations to our apprentices who secured employment during this period.

Carousel will be taking part in ‘Scottish Apprenticeship Week’ from Monday 1st to Friday 5th March. This years theme is ‘Business Backing Talent’. Keep an eye on our Facebook for further details.

JANUARY 2021
Applications for the Apprentice Employer Grant are now live, Carousel will be supporting employers to apply for the £5,000 initiative for eligible new apprentices.

We wish to welcome our new assessor, Duncan, to the team at Carousel.

DECEMBER 2020
The Scottish Government have announced support will be in place for employers when employing a Modern Apprentice. £5,000 will be made available to eligible employers when employing a 16 to 19 year old apprentice on or after 1 December 2020. This funding is limited and will only be in place until funding levels are exceeded.

Thank you for your donations towards Christmas Jumper Day. We successfully raised £140 for ‘Save the Children UK’.

OCTOBER 2020

We are happy to see more of our Nurseries re-open this month. Our Marketing and Admin teams will return to full-time hours within the office, which is open as normal from 9am-5pm.

We would like to congratulate our colleague, Jackie Moran, on successfully gaining her Professional Development Award in Childhood Practice at SCQF Level 9.
